Industry Preparation

APU’s Cinematic Arts programs, offered through the School of Visual and Performing Arts, combine rigorous coursework and hands-on learning opportunities, preparing cinematic arts students to graduate ready to enter the industry.

The Department of Cinematic Arts offers an M.A. in Screenwriting, a B.A. in Cinematic Arts with concentrations in animation, critical studies, and producing, a BFA in Cinematic Arts Production, BFA in Screenwriting, Critical Studies minor and Screenwriting minor. Faculty bring years of industry experience to the classroom, and combined with rigorous coursework and hands-on learning opportunities, cinematic arts students graduate prepared to enter the industry.

The department also hosts numerous student film projects each year. Student films have won awards at nationally competitive film festivals. APU alumni are working professionals at major studios, television networks, agencies, and throughout the Hollywood industry.
