APU’s Bachelor of Science in Finance prepares students to make sound financial decisions. This finance major provides a solid foundation in accounting principles, economics, business law, international business, statistics, and marketing, which then serve as a framework for in-depth study of financial markets, international trade, financial analysis, investments, and risk management.

Students learn practical application of finance theory through case studies and internships in order to guide organizations toward financial opportunities and risk management. Finance majors leave APU with the tools they need to be good stewards of personal and corporate financial resources.

After finishing the finance program, students can get jobs at any organization, since all organizations need finance people. Opportunities include financial manager, financial analyst, financial advisor, loan officer, cash manager, accounting manager, inventory manager, budget manager, real estate agent, business manager, and more.

Gain In-depth Learning Experience

The finance program can be tailored to an individual student’s career goals through one-on-one tutorials with faculty members. These allow students to explore advanced, specialized areas of interest, such as insider trading records and stock returns, insolvency/bankruptcy accounting, international financial management, and foreign exchange markets.

The recommended internship coursework provides finance majors with practical opportunities to apply classroom learning. APU business faculty remain connected to businesses in their areas of expertise and provide internship contacts for finance students. Internships result in contacts in the field and ensure that finance majors graduate with significant experience on their résumés.

Student Investment Fund

As a business club hosted by Azusa Pacific University’s School of Business and Management and led by a faculty advisor and a board of finance professionals, the Student Investment Fund (SIF) is designed to be the practical application of classroom knowledge.
