Biography

Ashley Hamilton, PhD (Cand), is an academic writing professional and PhD candidate at Azusa Pacific University. She has been invited to speak at national writing conferences across the U.S. including, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, Houston, Portland, Kansas City, Las Vegas, San Diego, Pasadena, Riverside among others. Her teaching philosophy is centered on teaching academic writing through engagement with seminal and current conversations in the field. One of the ways this is accomplished in her courses is through inviting students to think critically about challenging texts, analyze the broader implications of those texts, and extend conversations through posing questions for further discussion.

She aims to view each student holistically by taking a comprehensive approach to teaching where the emotional, social, ethical, and academic needs of each students is addressed in an integrated learning format.
