Study Hispanic Culture with APU’s Spanish Major

APU’s Spanish major seeks to guide student development in Spanish conversation, develop reading and compositional skills, introduce major Spanish language literary works, heighten cultural sensitivity, and encourage creative and reflective thinking with respect to the history and civilization of Hispanic countries, all to better serve God through service to others.

This comprehensive Bachelor of Arts in Spanish provides a solid foundation in Spanish and Latin American civilization and culture, Spanish literature and poetry, applied linguistics, and Spanish language pedagogy. These then provide a foundation for advanced study and immersive experience abroad in a Spanish-speaking country. Spanish majors leave APU equipped to communicate in Spanish on an individual and organizational level.

APU also offers a Spanish concentration for liberal studies majors.

Although Spanish has surrounded me all my life, I have never come to appreciate it as much as I did after becoming a Spanish major. The professors take you to new worlds and care for you, increasing your appreciation. It is definitely worth the hard work; you’ll have quality experiences.
