Gain Advanced Clinical Skills with APU’s Nurse Practitioner Program
The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with Nurse Practitioner (NP) specialties offers the following options:
- Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
- Family Nurse Practitioner
- Pediatric Nurse Practitioner–Primary Care
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Students enrolling in one of these NP specialties should familiarize themselves with the general MSN coursework, as those course requirements will need to be completed before students may begin the NP specialty curriculum. Nurses who already have an MSN from APU or another institution may enroll in a Post-Master’s Certificate program to obtain their NP specialty.

Entering into advanced clinical practice opened my eyes to the complexity of health care. I am so impressed with the way APU has expanded my knowledge and helped me to think differently about the medical field. I credit the outstanding, clinically active professors for making APU nursing programs relevant and marketable.
